Welcome back to the Spring Term at Marlborough Infants!

There are lots of exiting things happening at Marlborough Infants this half term...

Year 2 are learning all about plants, animals, variation and countries of the world in thier topic 'Rainforests'...

Year 1 are studying light and dark and the history of homes in their topic 'A Dark, Dark House'...

FS2 are investigating materials, weather and waterproofing in their topic 'Transport'...

and FS1 will be caring for living things in their topic 'Nursery Rhymes'.

Weather Watch! 

The new year is most definitely upon us, and we are feeling the chill of the winter air.  Please send children to school each day with warm, waterproof coats, hats, gloves and scarves.  Can we also take this opportunity to remind parents that boots are not a part of school uniform.  If you wish your child to wear boots to school, then they must bring black school shoes in a carrier bag to wear for the duration of the school day.

We are pleased to announce that the new front entrance to the Infant School is now complete and in full working order.  We would like to thank parents for their patience while the work has been going on and are sure you will agree that it now looks fantastic!  

The entrance will now provide a safer and more secure entrance and exit to the school building which is a part of our mission to ensure the safety of your children while they are at school. 

To help to make the site even more secure we also now have locking gates at the Burlington Road entrance.  These are open to parents at the start and end of the school day as well as at the beginning and end of lunch for those parents whose children go home for their dinners.  At all other points during the school day, these gates will be locked, but an intercom system is in place to let the office staff know if you need to come onto the site.

Opening times for the Burlington Road gates are as follows:

Open at 8:30 for KS1 children and parents, closing at 9:15

Open at 11:55 for parents of children who go home for dinners, closing at 12:05

Open at 12:55 for parents of children who go home for dinners, closing at 1:05

Open at 3:20 for all parents and children for hometime.
